The Poison-Destroying Peacock Mind Training
Teachings by Khenpo Sodargye. This treatise consists of five chapters. Using the metaphor of a peacock consuming poison, it teaches practitioners to transform afflictions into the path. It emphasizes emulating the Buddha's jataka stories to practice the six paramitas, benefiting sentient beings with great compassion; employing skillful means such as apparent attachment and anger to tame the five poisons; generating bodhicitta to bear the karmic suffering of all beings; refuting hypocrites who corrupt the Dharma; and ultimately, through contemplating non-self, severing the root of ego-clinging to realize the great Madhyamaka view of the equality of samsara and nirvana.
