Northwest University Q&A Session

At Northwest University, Khenpo Sodargye explores reincarnation evidence, karma as the determinant of future lives, the no-self paradox, and Pure Land practice as the safest path to liberation. This Q&A session followed a lecture given by Khenpo Sodargye at Northwest University in China on November 10, 2011, focusing on the Buddhist view of life, reincarnation, and the law of karma. Khenpo Sodargye responded to questions concerning the beginningless nature of life, the causal determination of suffering and happiness, the rational proof of reincarnation, the relationship between emptiness and the perceived self, and the proper causes for rebirth in the Pure Land, among others. He emphasized that the master of one's destiny is oneself, and all suffering and happiness arise from one's own past actions. Therefore, he urged the audience to establish the correct view, cherish life, accumulate merit, and seize the opportunity of this short life by aspiring for rebirth in the Pure Land. 20111110
