The Way of the Bodhisattva
The Way of the Bodhisattva L40 The main speaker of this session is Khenpo Sodargye The regrets of laziness at the moment of death
In this lecture, Khenpo Sodargye employs rational analysis to illustrate how easily human beings accumulate severe negative karma. He explains that even a single instant of anger towards a sublime object can lead to eons of suffering in the hell realms. Combined with the countless unpurified misdeeds carried over from beginningless samsara, falling into the lower realms becomes nearly inevitable unless one engages in diligent confession, such as the Vajrasattva practice. Khenpo also explains how beings in the lower realms continue to produce new negative karma while experiencing their current retribution, making liberation extraordinarily difficult. Underscoring the extreme rarity of a human life, he sternly warns against laziness, urging practitioners to establish daily discipline and internalize the Dharma. Otherwise, when facing the sufferings of death, unparalleled regret and despair will naturally arise.
