The Way of the Bodhisattva
The Way of the Bodhisattva L44 The main speaker of this session is Khenpo Sodargye Emulating the Spirit of a Bodhisattva Warrior
In this teaching on the fourth chapter of the Bodhicharyavatara, Khenpo Sodargye explains the importance of not becoming weary or discouraged while battling our afflictions. He uses the analogy of worldly warriors who endure severe wounds and fight to the death on the battlefield for fleeting glory. As Mahayana practitioners who have generated bodhicitta for the ultimate benefit of all sentient beings, we should possess even greater courage to fight our true "natural enemies"—the inner afflictions. Khenpo reminds us that no matter what obstacles or physical hardships we encounter, we must never give up our spiritual resolve. He emphasizes that true practice lies in observing our own minds, applying antidotes, and maintaining an unwavering determination to achieve liberation, rather than seeking temporary worldly happiness.
