The Way of the Bodhisattva
The Way of the Bodhisattva L39 The main speaker of this session is Khenpo Sodargye Lifespan is momentary and deceptive
In this section, Khenpo Sodargye advises practitioners against the common mistake of postponing their spiritual practice until worldly obligations are fulfilled. He urges us to prioritize the Dharma, as the duration of our life is fundamentally uncertain and our body is merely a momentary loan that could be reclaimed by the Lord of Death at any instant. By deeply meditating on impermanence, individuals can overcome worldly attachments. Khenpo meticulously explains that failing to utilize this rare human rebirth for spiritual development will inevitably result in rebirth in the lower realms. Once in realms such as those of animals or hell beings, the capacity to generate bodhicitta or perform virtuous acts is completely lost. He encourages everyone to maintain a strong resolve, establish a solid foundation, and make the most of this unique opportunity for liberation.
